ABOUT THE WONKY VEG CLUB

We are really excited for our second season of vegetable growing here at The Wonky Veg Club at Roves Farm. We are a community garden project which aims to provide an outreach space for the local community and support groups, and individuals who would find benefit in joining us. The Wonky Veg Club is a place to come and socialise, learn and enjoy working on the land.

The very nature of working outdoors is hugely beneficial for both the mental and physical wellbeing, particularly those struggling with health and social issues. It is these groups and individuals who we hope to provide a supportive and enjoyable space for, by creating opportunities to partake in a purposeful project; growing, tending to and harvesting a wide range of staple vegetables, as well as being able to share in the produce we have grown.

WHAT WE DO

All our sessions at the Wonky Veg Club can be tailored to suit the abilities of you and your group.

All the activities and jobs on the veg patch are shared between our friendly volunteers and each week is different depending on the season. Through the year we will be sowing, planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, digging, mowing and constructing. We always follow our work with a coffee and time to sit and chat, and share in any harvest of our veggies!
