We welcome dog walkers to use The Shepherd’s Rest and Ramblers Retreat seating area next to our Café, but they are not permitted in any other areas of the farm. So please leave your dog at home!
There are plenty of activities and facilities to keep you busy for the whole day. If you make full use of all that is on offer we recommend allowing at least 4 hours for your visit.
We will always run a full programme of activities daily, and these will be changed to adapt to the weather and seasons.
Tractor rides usually run from February half term to the end of October (subject to ground conditions).
Bottle feeding our lambs and kids is usually available during the Spring, but this cannot be guaranteed. We always update our social media with details.
Animal Racing will take place at weekends and during school holidays from around Mother’s Day to the end of the summer holidays.
No. We have a strict policy that states that children (anyone under the age of 16 years) MUST be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at ALL times.
Day tickets include all our daily activities, indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as animal food for our Feed the Animals sessions.
You can purchase tokens for our indoor electric Ride on Tractors and outside Ride on Diggers (£1.20) from any of our till points.
Tickets for Tractor & Trailer Rides are £2.00pp (under 3’s ride for free). Tickets are available to purchase from Reception. Ride run from Feb half term to October half term (ground conditions permitting).
There are plenty of indoor and under cover activities on offer every day at Roves Farm.
Meet and feed our friendly farm animals in Pets Corner, see the piglets of all ages in the Animal Barn and take part in some extra daily animal activities all under cover. Our heated indoor play and activity barn houses plenty of activities to keep the family busy. Exciting play areas for all ages, including giants slides, ropes, tunnels, pedal tractors & more! Or take a spin on one of our indoor Electric Ride-on Tractors.
Enjoy some of our delicious homemade light lunches, cakes and drinks at The Woolly Sheep Café.
We have dedicated sessions for babies, toddler and pre-schoolers during term time:
Roves Farm Rugrats (0-18 months) – every Wednesday & Friday at 10am.
Roves Farm Rascals (18 months plus) – Mon-Fri at 10.30am & 1pm.
These 25 minutes sessions offer singing, music, movement, story time, sensory & messy play led by our Activities Team.
At weekends and during school holidays there will be Music Time sessions each morning.
Our activities and facilities are aimed at children aged 0 – 8 years and their families.
We run a weekday and a weekend programme. This will always include meet and feed the animals and tractor rides when running. Check the Activities Board on arrival for all of the days activities.
If you purchased a day ticket through the website, you will be able to upgrade online anytime until the end of the day by using your day ticket reference number. We will refund your admission, and this will be processed within 5 working days. Please ask at Reception for more details.
No, we have lots of free parking available for our visitors.
Unfortunately Roves Farm is NOT easily accessible by public transport. The nearest bus stop is 2 miles away. Booking a taxi is the best way to get to Roves Farm without a car.
There are cash points located in Highworth, approx. 3 miles from Roves Farm. We accept card payments (except American Express) at all pay points. Sorry, but we do not accept cheques.
We do everything we can to make Roves Farm accessible to as many people as possible. The Animal Barns, Indoor Play & Activity Barn, Café, Farm Shop & Butchery, outdoor picnic areas are all accessible via hardcore or concrete walkways. We currently cannot offer wheelchair access on our tractor rides.
There are disabled toilet and hand washing facilities, and an easy drop off point by Reception if needed. The animal paddocks, family walk and animal racing are accessed via grass paths which may not be accessible depending on ground conditions and your individual mobility.
There are baby changing facilities in the Main Barn and a microwave at the Café which you are welcome to use for heating baby food. A cold drinking water tap can also be found here.
Breastfeeding is welcome in non-animal contact areas. Babes in arms are also welcome in The Shepherd’s Rest (otherwise over 16’s only).
